I realize that I generally jump on new deviations by my favorite handful of artists, but not lately. Sorry about that.

I've been on the hunt for a new job. I almost got one today, one which would be very fun, pay quite well (especially for just working on the weekends), and I am qualified for. Wait, wait, don't form a judgement yet. Whoo, typing left-handed. (I'm right-handed). Why, you ask? I was auditioning for an instructor position at a local ski resort today, and one of the snowboarders coming down that run lost control and, wouldn't you know it, hit me. She managed to run into me, speed me up in the process, and then knock me flat on my face, thus sending me into a face-first slide down the mountain with my right arm wrenched back at an unnatural angle. I was doing alright until then "teaching" the dude conducting the interview to snowboard. After that, I got to take the ride of shame down to the ski patrol clinic. I don't think I got the job. It may have been the injury, being unable to see the cannonball that caused it, or the fact that I screamed obscenities for a couple of minutes face-down in the snow until the pain died down enough to think.

I don't think anything's broken and neither did the ski patrol, but we both know that I've messed up my rotator cuff. I know the drill from the last time I hurt my shoulder like this. Ice, therapy (that I can't afford), a sling, and no drumming at the jazz club for a while. Maybe some asprin this time, too, so I don't wake up every morning screaming in pain.

So, I would be back on dA full swing today, except for this little issue in the general shoulder-arm-entire-right-side-of-my-body-above-the-waist region. Oh, well.
